DotNetNuke is a great
content management system. If you know the basisc, you will probably like it more and more everyday. However some of hidden elements cause some negative effects on
SEO.
Meta Keywords and
Meta Description are two of them. Try to install a new fresh copy of
DotNetNuke. Then with default settings check
homepage source, you will notice that there are some keywords.
This would be good if your website is somehow related to
DotNetNuke Content Management System. However, you would not want this, if your website provides content for another topic.
For example
a Health Issue...
So to
remove DotNetNuke related terms from
description and keywords section you need to go to
Host Settings page with your
Super User Account.
Then simply remove the check at
Show Copyright Credits checkbox.
Please let me know if you need further explanation. I will also focus on removing keywords or replacing them from codebase, so you will not need to uncheck Show Copyright Credits.
